What is Code Rush?
CodeMonkey’s Code Rush is a nation-wide competition for teams of students in 3rd to 8th grade. Solve as many CodeMonkey challenges as you can and maybe your team will be one of the 20 lucky teams who will win amazing prizes for their school or library!

The Details:
How do you build a team?
Your team needs to consist of 8 to 10 students from grades 3-5 or grades 6-8. Pick wisely! teams can only be a mix of different grades within the grade division. Team leader should be a teacher, instructor or parent. If you are a STEM teacher, a librarian or a parent, this is a great opportunity for you to get your kids involved. *The competition is only available for teams in the United States.
What are the technical requirements?
Each team member will get a personal CodeMonkey account. Members can log in using a desktop computer, laptop, Chromebook or tablet. An active internet connection is required. Each team also gets one teacher/librarian account for managing the student accounts and keeping track of the team progress.
What will participants learn?
CodeMonkey is an interactive platform that introduces kids to coding in a real life programming language. In this competition, teams will play through 150 challenges, covering programming topics such as objects, functions, simple loops, variables, arrays and for-loops.
How much does it cost to participate?
Participation cost is $49.95 per team. If you would like to enter more than one team, you'll have to pay $49.95 per team. The CodeMonkey website is secure and we don't store any credit card information at checkout - We are PCI Level 1 compliant, and use a secure, PCI Level 1 compliant payment gateway.
How are the winners determined?
Every solution in CodeMonkey gets a star score; three is the highest score. At the end of the competition, we will count the average star score of each team. Note that your team is only competing with teams in their age division: elementary or middle school. The 10 teams in each grade range with the highest star score average in the shortest time will win the Code Rush competition.
